NU:Talent 2012 presents a night of rock, indie and acoustic sets from the area’s most promising musicians. The handpicked musicians will perform original material as well as innovative tributes from some of the world’s most influential artists.

NU:TALENT 2012 Lineup:

The Villeins
Headlining this year’s performance and descirbed by The Crack as “delivering an entertaining performance of true zeal, playing a startling array of original material which consisted of an upbeat assortment of tunes and impressive guitar licks” and tipped by NME to “explode on to the indie scene”

Great Man Theory
Great Man Theory strives to create a hard rock sound that nobody will have heard before, whilst bringing in their favorite influences from grunge, classic and metal rock.

Virtues Must Live
With a reputation for exceedingly energetic live shows this five piece rock band have drawn inspiration from the Foo Fighters and Taking Back Sunday.

Rosie
Rosie are a three piece alternative rock band creating music described as bouncy electro-powered party punk.

Bentley Park
This five piece Heavy Rock/Punk/Acoustic and Ambient band have drawn inspiration from Deaf Havana, Lower Than Atlantis, Francesqa, Canterbury, Anberlin, We Are The Ocean and Foo Fighters.

Jake Houslby
Jake is a singer-songwriter whose style has gradually shifted from a Bob Dylan like approach with simple, strummed chords; to a more intricate guitar style.

Dan McGlynn
Dan is a singer-songwriter from Sunderland with a laid back acoustic style. Dan’s solo performances see him move effortlessly between the piano and acoustic guitar to bring to you inspired covers and his own original material.

George Vann
George loves nothing more than taking songs you wouldn’t expect to hear played acoustic and putting his own mark on them. The major musical influences in George’s Music are Bon Iver, John Mayer and City and Colour.
